Aviation: The Invisible Highway (Trailer)

Trailer for an aviation documentary coming in 2015 narrated by Harrison Ford. Pretty sweet footage!

Cool... but only the next phase now captivates the public's imagination...manned missions to Mars.

I'll watch it for sure. I'd like it even better if it were about GA.

Hahaha. I can dream...

Terwilliger is amazing. Those shots are incredible. Let's hope it doesn't take him as long as it takes me.

However, the message he's hinting at seems like an appeal to make people stop taking aviation for granted and somehow fall in love with it. The cattle car riders. Well, that starts in the cockpit of a 2-seater. There will always be those people who oooo and ahh at heavy metal and will never appreciate the exhilaration of wind in their face and bugs in their teeth. We need more movies about that!

at this point we need both. Folk like Ford etc will bring credence an folk here who do an amazing upstanding job will catch their interest as well. Hopefully with understanding of all aspects the public will see what is going on and what may be lost.

Re: Aviation: The Invisible Highway (Trailer)

I fly commercial only occasionally, but every time I do I am surprised how many people never even look out the window- even the few who aren't engrossed in their electronic gizmos. I was on board an Alaska 737 coming out of SeaTac a couple months ago and noticed the Blue Angels practicing their Sea Fair airshow down below us over Lake Washington. All jazzed up, I blurted to the guy next to me "hey, there's the blue angels" and got a blank look and a shrug in reply- then back to his iphone.

Yeah, but that's just so you can sleep easier, or not have to get up 6 times for the person with a bladder of a small rodent! :D

Re: Aviation: The Invisible Highway (Trailer)

It would be nice if they played this film on commercial flights. Heck, they should ONLY play aviation documentaries on commercial flights, haha! People would either read their books, etc. like they do already, or they might take on a new appreciation for the miracle they've been taking for granted.
