We sold our rail, but still make the dunes now and again on the quads. The guy I fly for has a really nice blown LS1 powered buggy Our outfit is based out of Yuma, but I take care of the country east of the Gila Mountains. My strip is about 25 miles east of Yuma on the north edge of the farm ground. I have pilots quarters on the strip you are welcome to anytime. Just give me a shout. There was a map of where everyone based out of, on this site at one time, and I think my strip was on it I can PM you the coordinates and particulars as well...
Ya the tandem factor of the -4 works for me for the same reasons, and I just can't swing the extra cash for an -8. I also need the pax seat, so the -3 is a no -go for me I have flow a coulpes -6s and a -7 and liked them pretty well, but everything else I fly is "pilot centered" and stick driven, so I *think* I would prefer the -4

I saw a -4 somewhere not to long ago. I think it was 220 hp.,sounded nice, but I looked this AM. and couldn't find it. If I see it again, I wll send it to ya.

I flew a -4 long time ago. Used to be a guy down by Tucson building them, and for $25.00 you could go fly one. Like flying a go cart.

At this time, I am more into flying the backcountry than the aerobatics, but as I said, the-4 would be my next choise, $$'s permtting.

Coodinates would be nice and a phone #.

I would expect to be down there in the next month or so.

To Nampa and return on Friday, 200+ miles each way, 95 to 100 indicated, 3.7 GPH mo-gas. Landed back at my strip (400' x 18' wide @5400' asl and a 8 degree slope)in a measured 66'4" with moderate braking, no headwind. Can a Cub do that?!! (Rans S-7S) Don't get me wrong, if money was no object...........
One other factor less talked about:noise. I have a "swiss muffler" on my S-7S, and it IS the quietest thing in the air, this allows me to do things like shoot landings on the emerging Snake River sandbars near Blackfoot, with no complaints (or even awareness) by homeowners nearby. Or, practice 20 degree hillside landings on stubblefields and cut hay fields near rural homes, again with nobody being the wiser. Less noise is a very good thing. I'd prefer a SC I suppose as quiet as my S-7S, and enough extra money to pay the fuel bill!

There are two gravel bars north of Blackfoot that I have been eyeing for a couple years...waiting for the day I get a plane that can land them.
