Hey Zane, Had this little message yesterday.

I still am encountering significant hang ups entering the home page. Me thinks those boys haven't fixed the problem yet!

That is strange. I think i set that up long ago to show if the database server times out of doesn't respond.

Anyone else ever seen that when trying to access the site?

I've logged a support request. It's definitely a database server connection timeout issue. If anyone else sees this, please log the time, thanks.

Hi Zane,

Just so you know, I am still encountering problems with loading the BCP site. Just this morning (11:30 am EST Thursday) the main page would load, say that is was done, but freeze my computer for several minutes before releasing it to use. Even on good days there is a couple of seconds after the page loads before I am free to use the site.

I think your host has some serious issues. I don't know if it matters but I do not see this on the MaulePilots.org site.

This morning I expunged all but the most recent of the news items on the homepage...we'll see if that makes for better performance by not requiring so many queries on page load.

Zane,

The site is working quite well now. I am seeing no noticable lag.

Re: BCP Site Performance

Hey Zane,

Just a "heads up" that I have been experiencing very slow page loads the last few days. Especially in the morning around 9 - 10 am EST. It seems to get better in the afternoon.

I've been in contact with support about it this morning. I noticed it too about 6am Pacific. The support people claim there was an unusually high load on the server from 2 other users, who've been disabled now. *sigh*

Yeah I know, the server is chugging like a C-145 on a hot day towing 2200 pounds. We're being punished for our CPU usage on the shared hosting server. I guess I'm just going to have to throw money at it.

Re: BCP Site Performance

I have a few things to try, and if it doesn't work (probably won't) then I'm going to upgrade the hosting plan, where we pay for dedicated memory and CPU that are guaranteed for us. It's going to be especially critical as we move to the new website which will probably be more server-resource intensive. #-o

Re: BCP Site Performance

This server company has got to go. Free or not I can't sit here for 20 plus seconds per page. Put a GD pay Pal button on so we can afford fast service. Sorry. To much coffee. I'm gunna go fly to the beach with the misses.

Cheers...Rob

It's not free, but it's performing like it is. I've got some bigger fish to fry at the moment but I've contacted support.
