Bearhawks at Llano

As some of you know, I'm building a Bearhawk 4-place kit and have become friends with the guy that owns the kit manufacturing company. They attended the Texas STOL Round Up, and so I took the opportunity to shoot some homemade porn of these machines while I was there. I put together a quick promotional edit for them of their aircraft competing in the competition. It was windy, weird light, and I've got the shakes, so please don't barf. Enjoy.

Those are some nice looking airplanes.

Re: Bearhawks at Llano

Do you have a build thread going Zane so we can follow your progress with the Bearhawk?

The only thing making me nauseous is your overwhelming use of disclaimers! That was a great video! And that really is a cool looking airplane. I'm with MAU though, would love to see some updates. But I understand, you're busy or whatever  .

Bearhawks at Llano

Yeah, I've been meaning to come out swinging with a good build thread. I have a lot of photos but very little written. I do keep a build log though. Anyway, I'll share it when I feel like it's impressive enough to make look like I'm not moving at a snail's pace. 8)

Re: Bearhawks at Llano

Did you get the QB kit?
I wish I had the patience/attention to detail to build something. Sportsman 2+2 Two weeks to taxi looks great, except the price.

Great little video! I have not seen enough Bearhawk action. They really intrigue me.

More to come!

29, yes I bought a quickbuild kit. I do like the building/finishing but just cannot get into building my own from scratch. Saves a lot of time, something I don't have.

Great video!

I'm also building a Bearhawk 4P from a quick build kit in Sisters OR. I work in Portland though and fly back and forth to Twin Oaks - would love to see your project if you are up for it.

I like free hand videos like that. Having a little movement on the screen really contributes to the "first hand" experience for me. There's definitely a time and place for smooth shots and too much movements is a bad thing, but I think having a little off tripod work from time to time is a cool thing.

What editing software do you use?

Nice job on the video, Z!

Don't waste time on a building blog. You have enough irons in the fire. I want you to get done before I'm too old to fly with you!

I'm not sure about the Bearhawks, but that is a good looking Maule at 1:07! 8)

You've got a good set up Zane, love the beer tap. Let the fun begin, one piece at a time.

I'm so envious Z. I've almost been glad you didn't start a builder thread because it would drive me crazy. I want to build BH so bad!

Beer + building only works for about 1 pint, then the quality of my work starts to decline. 8)

Like several other builders, I broke tradition with the fuel valve placement and rather than welding I made a clamp on solution.
