I think it's a special use permit, and the original one was set to expire in 2010, so it'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

I read in the paper here in McCall that the fire investigator speculated that the fire actually started as an electrical fire upstairs, but since everything in the building was so devastated, it's hard to be conclusive.

I sure hope that it is rebuilt, it is a real treasure and with out the lodge there wouldn't be a lot of reasons to fly in. It isn't much of a place to practice touch and goes. I hope it doesn't wind up like "Red's Horse Ranch" on the Minam River here in Oregon. The Forest service traded 1.2 million worth of property for it and closed it down. They said it wasn't good to have a commercial venture that close to the Eagel Cap Willderness area. So it is slowly melting down. sigh. Bob
