After doing a wheel ski install on my 180 last year, I said if I ever had to do it again it would be too soon. It’s a big job to install the brackets, hydraulic lines, pump, reservoir, etc, with most of the work being done through inspection covers. When I bought my 185 I wasn’t looking forward to having to do it again. After some procrastination, it’s done and ready for ice fishing.

Looking good! Was up at the cabin Tuesday-Thursday, was probably only 4"-5" of snow on the ground, but may have more with this last dump. There was 6" of ice on the lake where there is quite a bit of flow, would guess you will not get on your trout lake for a while yet, but will be fun when you do.

I just finished the install on my Wagon. Was a ton of work indeed... If anyone is interested, I sent Zzz a copy of the Fluidyne ski install and IPC PDFs for the knowledge base. I sent the 3200s, but the the pump install is roughly the same for the other variants.

The first couple pics don't look too fun, but the last two sure do!

Just putting the skis on my 170b with 180hp. It is in the shop and we have had 6 inches of snow in the last 24 hrs. In S Sask. we have had poor snow for many years. I am hoping this will be a good one. It is a pain to install the ski package first time but after only takes about an hour to get ready. Great fun!

Just do whoever you do your recurrent training with a favor and schedule that training in summer. Then remove that damn pump when the plane comes off skis. Flying from the right seat, with winter boots on with the pump in place is not much fun. Trust me.

Nice looking plane, enjoy the skis, but ease into ski flying on those skis.....don’t ask how I learned that.....
