CA to UT in my 90hp Champ
Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!
Great trip Report.
What a beautiful country we live in!!
And how nice to have the freedom to enjoy it !

Great photos and report.
The solar project was Solar 2 and what you saw was the breakdown of the project. I flew by it once on the way to vegas in a 172. The focused light on the tower was BRIGHT! Very cool to see regardless.

I know this is off topic, however could you find it in your heart to pm and tell me what kinda numbers you are getting with that 90 horse champ. I had a thread about an O-235 and was told the 90 and Continental 100 hp engines were better upgrades. What kinda climb do you get with it? I am coming down to the wire on which one to do to have ready in time for spring. Thanks Scott Denny

Way back when I converted my 7AC Champ to 85 HP. That gave that little plane a stellar climb rate. Okay, it wasn't a supercub but it feels like it if you've been flying a 65HP Champ. If it were me I'd stick with the 90 HP engine. But that's just me.

Pretty airplane. Pretty country. One of my ag students ended up working for Jack Frost in an Air Tractor 802. I asked him what the extra two blades on the prop of that big bus means. "It means you have arrived," he said. Personally, I liked my 90 hp Champ better. I had a -8 that I had to prop.
