Chasing the eclipse at FL450 at 460 knots during totality



Probably one of the more surreal moments I have witnessed. I am sure these have been posted to death, but for me it was one of the cooler things in aviation I have done.

I actually wasn't flying, my wife was the pilot. I was just invited along for the ride luckily. I haven't flown that kind of stuff in over a decade. It was a CJ2+ with probably a 30 kts tailwind.

Looks like an awesome experience Patrick. Hope you got to see the eclipse by looking up as well, it was a sight to behold.

Not as much as I would have liked actually. Certainly took a few glimpses, but as a passenger on someone else's jet I was able to just sneak a glance or two. Next time!
