I just got home form Chicken Strip.
By the time a arrived at the strip about 8:30am, Rick (701driver) Desert Rat, NVflyer and some others (sorry

, I can't remember all the names

) pretty much did most of the work. I just helped kick some small rocks off the strip as Rick was smooth grading the strip. It's really in excellent shape! Kind of soft in some spots as they filled in some low spots (didn't have water and compaction). But I wouldn't think twice about landing my 182 there. Heck, it's in better shape than some of the backcountry strips in ID and Eastern OR
Anyway, had a great time and great to meet a few more BCP guys (701driver, NVflyer, Desert Rat, 172heavy and Glidergeek....... I already know him but figured I'd mention him

). I'm not much into the scenery around the hot springs

, but this is a really cool strip in the middle of a huge desert valley surrounded by huge mountains. A plus for me to see fighter jets buzzing around up high and low (just wish they came lower!!).
We took a ton of pictures, measurements and notes. So I'm sure Chicken Strip will be updated on Shortfield.com in the coming days.
