Do You Support Driver's License Medical? Take the CAMA Poll

The Civil Aviation Medical Association is strongly opposing the driver's license medical idea. They have a one-question poll on their website where you can register your vote on the subject. Votes in favor of the driver's license medical are running about 95%. =D>

Takes 5 seconds to vote, if you're interested: http://www.civilavmed.com/. The poll is on the left-hand side of the page.

May not make any difference in the end, but at least we can tell them what we think.

I suspect CAMA will take that down shortly. I imagine, given the content of the article on their home page, that the survey is not working out the way they had hoped.

Like the AMA, they are seriously out of touch with the people they purport to serve.

A quick search gave the practice of the president of the association. Link

Not like he has a conflict of interest or anything! No wonder they oppose it; they don't want to loose AME customers. Go figure.

I also believe you should be able to google a vehicle lisence plate the same way our N numbers are out there.

And their page has now been hacked and is displaying viagra ads. Maybe just a coincidence, but right on the heels of "wrecking" their poll it doesn't make outsiders look good.

Re: Do You Support Driver's License Medical? Take the CAMA

We did not "wreck" their poll. Sheesh.
It was on their public front page. (that is not displaying any viagra ads on my computer)
If they wanted a totally biased result they would have put the poll in the members only area.
How are pilots "outsiders" on an aviation medical website?
Again, if they didn't want outsiders reviewing the content of their site, they would have made the entire site members only.
It is a massive assumption to think that the few BCP members that voted totally skewed the results.
If that were true, it says a lot about the disinterest shown by their own membership.

In the finest traditions of any self-respecting Banana Republic, if you don't like the election results just pretend it didn't happen.

If they don't care what average pilots think, which they obviously don't, they shouldn't have conducted a public poll on the front page of their website.

Or rather, aircraft should enjoy the same privacy that automobiles do. If I recall, you can opt out of your FAA records being public.

I don't believe RW was implying that BCP members were solely responsible for this. I didn't take it that way. (as to the Viagra thing, RW what websites do you surf? I think you caught something...). I took the "outsides" label as meaning non-CMA members.

I know that I personally forwarded that link - before it even showed up here - to a couple hundred people counting friends and other aviation chat boards. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Feelings are running very strong in support of the abolition of the Class III. I believe any poll or survey on the open Internet will swing in this direction.

Their page still looks normal to me, and no Viagra adds. Usually those adds are a reflection of what you've been searching on the net  Hey, there's more than one way to vent frustrations  and that way is the fun way \:D/ .

And I agree with the other sentiments, I'm not an outsider, I'm a pilot with an opinion on the third class medical. I would hope they would want to hear from me too.
