Early C182 handling (‘56-61’) straight vs slant tail?

The old 182's fly great. I had a 56 182 (no letter). Tall gear, great docile handling, a bit slow (125 MPH) due to no cowl flaps and a huge opening in the bottom cowl for cooling. Flew the family with few weight limits. As good a Cessna design as they come.
