Escalante, UT to Skagway, AK

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

From Burns lake I cut across to Terrace, then took a valley north to the Ness river then down to the beach.

Your timing couldn't have been better. I don't think it stopped raining for more than a few days from November through April.

As I read between the lines, looks like this is a permanent trip to Skagway? If so, good deal. Hope to meet you in person.

How much for the rooms in Burns Lake? Can you reserve them?

Also, what's with the "new life up there comment"? Are you moving back for good?

Yep, here for good. I head down commercially in a few weeks to collect the family and drive the u-haul back up. If we get a good day the next few weekends, I will try to get over to visit if you will be around.

90 Canadian I believe, cheaper than anything in town and way more convenient. Talk to Wayne at the airport about holding a room. And yes, back for good, school was not working out for my kids. Skagway has a top notch school and I get to fly in Alaska again :)

Sorry to hear that and that we didn't get to meet up. Hopefully we can meet up when we come that way. Happy for you that you're back in AK though!
