Gotta agree. Belly Soap is the best I’ve ever used, by far. I haven’t tried GOJO yet, but I prefer spray on cleaners.

Simple green in a pump up weed sprayer (there's a version of it that is supposed to be less corrosive for aluminum)

Re: Favorite cleaner for belly slim?

Make darn sure what ever you use is not corrosive!

The Simple Green for aviation spray on has worked good for me. After I clean the belly with the Simple Green I go over it again with a Mild non corrosive cleaner to clean off any left over residue from the Simple Green cleaner, for this I use SprayWay glass cleaner, it works great. The SprayWay is also great for bugs and dirt on the rest of the airplane.

Thanks fellas. I might just have a belly cleaner showdown to see what works best.

For the crud, I like good old fashioned WD-40. That'll cut through old sticky 5606 even.

Re: Favorite cleaner for belly slim?

I always thought Go Jo hand soap was lanolin based, maybe I was wrong.

I've never used gas or Belly Soap, however I can't imagine anything working better than Go-Jo. It takes about 15 minutes to paint the stuff on the belly of the plane, the wheels, torque links, brakes, etc, with a big paint brush. Wait 10 minutes and hose it off with a garden sprayer or just wipe it. So quick and simple. Make sure to use the white stuff with no pumice.

I use my wife on a creeper, while I drink beer and smoke cigars. This has worked well for me for many years, I don't know what she uses.
Cheers.

Mineral spirts, detergent, and gel. That’s the original formula.

They’ve got the Punic variety-self explanatory.

They added a citrus variety. I’d stay away from that.

Re: Favorite cleaner for belly slim?

I have never used a hand cleaner to clean a belly always used varsol when I owned a 150-150. If you like Go-JO for the job try JOES hand cleaner as it’s does a better job cleaning hands than GoJo.
