- Super Vent
When the Temps get into the triple digits here in South Texas, I install my "Super Vents" !
First, I pull out the Cessna windshield vents And slide in the two clear plastic tubes. One on the left and one on the right. They are joined together by a coupling in the center. The tubes have a sliding sleeve that covers a large hole that is directly centered over the pilots and copilots head. All air can be shut off by simply sliding each sleeve over each vent hole. So if your flying by your self you get all the air from both wing vents. I typically point the air right at my neck line and it puffs my shirt out while I'm flying : ) If someone is with me then I share the air! But even sharing the air, you both get it all without wasting a drop! And it's still healthy.
While it is not as pretty as an installation, it's not $1400, and functional. And you can move it from plane to plane in minutes. In the photo the black velcro is the sleeve on each side. This was my prototype. In later units I used white velcro, and since the tube is clear it does not obstruct your vision. Anyway, that's how I handle the heat
