For 773m taken with iPhone in a super cub with left slider open. Need to have a lanyard, I'm sure I will drop it out the plane someday, if I don't

I used to drop cell phones off the boat as a matter of routine. This was before the days of contacts stored by the provider. Not good. Expensive. The lanyard won't work because there will come a time when you are just sure that THIS time you don't need it.

Re: Fun with fog

This is one of my favorite pictures. Took it one morning while flying around our main farm yard. The combination of the fog and rising sun made for a pretty neat picture.

Here's a picture from a couple years ago at one of our west circuit strips. It sits on a ridge at about 2,000ft and sometimes the valleys below fill with fog making for some fun flying and cool pictures.

Re: Fun with fog

Here's a kind of time-lapse from a (successful, believe it or not!) flight to Venatie and then on to Arctic Village a few years ago:

Wow, that's pretty cool looking!
Image

Hmm, looks a little foggy...

That might not be that bad...

Re: Fun with fog

Not as dramatic as the other pictures, but here's a shot of the fog running the slalom course from the Olympic Mountains down into Discovery Bay in Washington State. Like the other posters, I thoroughly enjoy seeing what the air is doing through its foggy fingerprints.

Re: Fun with fog

PSA: This thread is a great example of why you should use the BCP photo gallery to post photos here. Look at all the defaced Photobucket images, and missing Tapatalk, whatever else... Really sad. So many other threads just like this.

Happy to help if you're having trouble. Remember the tutorial vid!

Re: Fun with fog

Ok I'll give it a whirl. Here are couple from last August. I just happened to be up when the top of the stratus was almost exactly ridge height, and it spills over like a tea cup overflowing, giving the redwoods and Douglas firs a nice drink.
