Just a note, When I used to use Ski's!?!?! When I left home I always gave the bottom of the ski's a coating of PAM or Pledge, I think it helped on the first and maybe second landing.
Also Lift the ski up by the tip and slip a garbage bag over it and then push or taxi onto the bag, helpful if you are going to be there a little while.

I have heard that tip regarding the garbage bags, but I think that may be in reference to older style all metal skis, I find it hard to imagine the plastic bag is more slippery then the plastic bottoms of the skis. Not to mention, to slip the bags on the skis would require coming to a full stop and getting out, and by then I'd be either stuck down or not....Now that I think about it, I have not had occasion to date to park in deep virgin snow, and spend any time past a minute or so (draining the sump....), maybe after a longer time period the skis would freeze down? So far, the one time problem has occured immediately after coming to a full stop, and before I could get out and slip on garbage bags. Having said that, a couple bags weigh nothing, and could conceivably be used for many other purposes in an emergency situation, so what the heck, I'll throw a couple in the plane. As to the PAM or PLEDGE application, the biggest problem I could see there is how to apply, it may be trouble then it would be worth (jacking the plane up etc.)

So far, a one time deal (the stick down) and really, a couple minutes or less with the shovel had me on my way, and in retrospect simply rocking the wings may have been an easier and quicker solution to breaking free from the thin layer of ice that apparently formed under the skis on touchdown.

The bags are not any more slippery than the ski, just the ski is slipping on the bag,not the snow, slip the length of the bag and your moving, bag is self desposeing.
As to spraying Pam on the bottom of the ski, just grab the tip and lift it up and spray real quick!!

Got it, and that makes sense. I already have some bags in the hangar, for dirty laundry while on xc's, clean clothes in another bag, thanks for the clarafication.
