Got to the beach at last!

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

What are those itty-bitty round things on that Super Cub that kind of look like tyres? :P

It is a great country. My wife is already planning a return trip for the 2014 airshow.

Welcome to BCP nutter,
That is a neat operation that Pete run's in Wanaka with the Tigers. I'm glad to hear you flew with them.

I regularly use his Piper and previously Cessna whenever I go back home. It's a great place to fly from. We had a really amazing flight on the day after New Year's Day with fresh fallen snow everywhere (mid-summer!).

If you've never been, I would certainly recommend you head back for the Warbirds Over Wanaka '14, it's a great event in a really spectacular location. There's always aircraft every-way you turn. We'll be there for sure. \:D/

What size tires, excsue me, TYRES are you rnning on your onefitty? They look good.
I've read a couple Barry Crump books, "Wild Pork & Watercress" is my favorite. Really makes NZ sound like an awesome place. Flying would make it just that much better.

Haha Gump! We're quite comfortable with the size of our appendages! Hotrod, they're only 8.50x6 tyres, the onefitty makes them look BIG. I swear it's picked up a couple knots with them too!

 It's not the size that counts. It's how you use them!

Life is good. Life is better with wings.

Battson wrote:Yeah you're right - the fishing is good - you can land on the beach too if you time the tides right, otherwise it's a short walk from the airstrip. Good diving as well.

I'm finishing off the Bearhawk in Wellington, then moving it to the Flying Doctor hanger in Palmy North in a few months time. We're hoping to receive a test flying area which includes Fielding amongst others, Otaki etc. so we'll see you around for sure!

Hey that sounds good, will be keen to see it! We've put quite a number of aircraft on the register including amateur built , I'm just finishing off an RV-9A that we imported from Florida, will hopefully start the test flying phase end of this month
