Think he said "Ririe" which isn't too far from Jackson.

Glad to see Ford wearing Gumps choice of "old school Bose". There must be something to those 1st generation headsets.

edit: Scratch the above... he does say "Briley" on 2nd view-

You beat me to it, it sounded like Ririe, and sure looked liked Rire. Launching from Jackson, and heading west anyway, he probably flew the canyon to Alpine, which would take him over a ranch he owns in the Hoback Junction area, then over the Palisades Res to the dam, and then down the Snake, where he flew over Karl Malones fishing retreat, over a bunch of good gravel bars, and then coming out over Rire (where there are a good half dozen grass strips) on the edge of the Snake River Plain. Sure wish I could afford to fly places like that! #-o

It's always slightly disorienting to run into a celebrity of his caliber, and for us it's cool we got the flying to make him more human? I ran into him at a friends snowboard shop, he'd stopped to ask directions to the Harley shop down the street, he was halfway down the block before it clicked who he was. Then I waved at a Husky pilot once while taxing towards the cafe at Afton, telling a girlfriend it's probably Harrison Ford, and it was. He is great PR for us, and can land that Husky at my strip anytime.

The best movie line he ever uttered: during the big fight scene in AIR FORCE ONE, he's beating the shit out of the bad guy, while they are wrestling around in the rear of a fictional Air 1 that features a let down ramp in the rear. Keep in mind his character is POTUS, and now he is really getting pissed.... so he punches the bad guy square in the face and tells him to "GET OFF MY PLANE", pulls the guys ripcord on the chute he had on, and the fight was over as the villan is pulled out of the plane. Knowing his flying background at the time, I thought it was was funny as hell, and he certainly delivered the line with conviction!

Maybe he needs an invitation to a certain Idaho backcountry airstrip event next summer.

For airplanes and cars maybe, but unfortunately not humans. Age sucks. Golden years, Yeah right!!! Nothing golden about forgetfulness and chronic pain. There is no beauty about getting old. I know I'm reminded every time I look into the mirror. All you can do is accept it and do your damned best to compensate for the short comings that it brings. Hell Im in my 50's Im going to go down fighting. Years are blazing fast. I'm looking at mortality in the face and learning that every year that passes by, you gotta enjoy ,cause one day it's gonna be your last. But you know I'm ok with that. Life is a fleeting game. It's damned amazing that we are here in the first place. Some entity that distilled aluminum and steel, dug deep in the earth and discovered hydrocarbons. designed a mechanical system to harvest the energy and discovered flight. Damned we are lucky to live in this time!! I feel at peace!!

Nice video! Looks like he has found the true love and freedom of flying! I don't know if Harrison reads any of these BCP Topics, but I would like him to know how much we appreciate his efforts and support in General Aviation! MF

Well said.

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)

I ran into him at an airport once. It was shortly after he had made his famous public statement against guns. Despite others considering him a celebrity, I don't recall celebrating the moment.

I was wondering how long it would take for somebody to bring up the political side of Ford.

Since Harrison Ford was or still is a spokesman or speaker for some of the aviation organizations and a corporate jet owner or user, I wonder what his views are on the very likely of user fees and more tax on corporate jet owners and users in the near future?
