High Desert Fly-In 2012

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Super bummed I missed it. Knew it would be awesome. Got a FB message from my family friend Tommy Elliot who said he was up at a fly in in my neck of the woods - guess which one - they were the 3 SC's and a Maule up from Visalia.

Bummed..... :(

Great pics all.

Brian - take it easy Mr. Don't ball up that pretty red devil!

God, but I do love airplanes.
That was one of the best bunch of pictures I've ever seen on a fly-in.

Re: High Desert Fly-In 2012

First off, many thanks to Kevin for organizing a spectacular second annual event! I missed the South Circuit end last year, and really enjoyed the flying and comraderie. The best part was my son Cole asking to go back next weekend! Great seeing many of you again and meeting some for the first time, can't wait to do it again soon!

Re: High Desert Fly-In 2012

Just wondering why y'all don't base this out of The Chicken Strip. I've been to both places. TCS is the best. January I'll be down.

Cheers....Rob

I think 20 something planes would saturate the ramp down there

If There are to many for the chickin strip, The Bacon strip could handle a crowd this size with no problem. Lots of Dry lake beds and of course the Giant rock to fly out and see.

Chicken & Bacon are great spots and all but this place has about 500 more options to land for all abilities. Chicken does have a hot spring but personally I am not really interested in soaking with 50 other greasy men... [-X

90% of those that flew in also live within 2 hours.

If someone would organize a fly in down south I would be there! I hope to see all of you next year for the 3rd annual.
