Incredible photos and videos, guys. I'll second Cory's comment on the clip of Kevin's launch from overhead. Some of the best footage I've ever seen. Period.

So glad the kids and I got to participate and have some fun with everyone. Can't wait til next time.

That is the coolest Seabee I've ever seen and at a backcountry fly-in!! Sweet. Looks like a great time. Thanks to all for the photos!

Any more pix of the Seabee?

Wow! Just awesome!
I'll echo the takeoff shot is just sick!
Great skills with that little helicopter thing! Awesome footage. Can't wait for the rest and the jealousy continues to grow.

That's great, another good perspective. I loved the writing on the pumpkin.

I see a lot of Tom Waclo's UAV footage in there. I wonder if he was asked for permission or if that person just ganked it from the vimeo site?

If someone snaked my footage for their own video without asking, I'd be a little angry.

EDIT: Turns out it was cool, just no credits or anything. As someone who's had my work stolen and passed off as someone else's, I'm a little sensitive to that.

Great Aviation Quotes.
http://www.skygod.com/quotes/cliches.html

A grease-job landing is 50 percent luck; two in a row are entirely luck; three in a row and someone's lying.

There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing: Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.

It's a good landing if you can still get the doors open.

I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Trust your captain .... but keep your seatbelt securely fastened.

There are no new ways to crash airplanes.

The nice thing about a mistake is the pleasure it gives others.

Our failures teach us. If you want to increase your chances of success double your failure rate.

Re: High Sierra Fly-In 2013 Photo Thread

So with all the biting, scratching, and hair pulling over the vacation calendar at the work place right now, my question to Kevin is,
Will this "fly-in" be repeated this year?
And if so, best guess on dates please. [-o<
That was a bummer missing out on it last year.
Thanks
Tom

Tom Weiss perished in a mid-air collision October 12, 2014. He was an enthusiastic and beloved contributor here for close to 10 years, and he will be missed greatly.

Hey Tom!

See the new thread I just started. This year is the 6th annual! What dates work best for you?

"... not screaming in terror like his passengers." Now that's an aviation quote worth saving. Maybe we need a thread just for great aviation quotes. This one could head the list.

Maybe I missed it in another thread but has the movie from last year's event been completed? I saw the trailer but haven't seen the full length version.

You'd know if it was finished because I'd promote the hell out of it.
