Looks like fog will be an issue here in NW Oregon Thursday.

My passenger can not leave Wednesday night for the high desert so we will wait till Terry can depart McMinnville. No IFR for him.

I am wheels up at 2PM come hell or high water. If no fog we are wheels up at 9 AM. Flight time is 4 hours with one gas stop.

No hell or high water here, but I'm hosed anyway. Despite all my efforts to quietly slip away for a couple days, my leash has been yanked.

Things are looking good for me except my kids have been sick all week and now I'm starting to get it. Trying every trick in the book to fight it...only 2 more days.

Kevin do you have a list of the landing places with GPS coordinates you plan on going to Thursday Friday Saturday?

I was thinking that if people got separated on purpose or by accident if you could raise somebody else on the radio they could say we are at such and such a strip, then you could refer to your list and find the GPS coordinates and find the group. I totally understand if you do not want to post them on the forum.

Planning to depart as soon as the fog lifts Thursday to meet up with Oregon 180 and head down. Will miss you TomW, had the air to air cam all set up for our flight, next time.

Being as I fly a slow airplane I would appreciate this info as well. But I can try to keep up.

I was wondering about this too. I totally understand not wanting to advertise them, but from a planning standpoint, especially having never flown in this area, it would be great to be able to get them plugged into the iPad and do a little recon of them ahead of time. I wish I had a list as it would be helpful remembering them.

Pilot briefs will help with this a lot. There are literally more than 100 places to land within 10 minutes of the lake bed. I will explain this during our pilot briefs. We also have a number of folks attending the fly-in that now know the area very well and will work as group leaders as well.

Just a thought. If you're going to have group leaders to help guide people around the area, it might be good to have those leaders devided by aircraft ability/similarly equipped...if it's an option. In other words, I could follow a Bearhawk and probably spend most of the day watching him land because he can get in where I can't as opposed to following another plane around with 8s or 8.50s that requires a little more room to operate. But I'm sure you've thought these things through. I'll just follow Bryan!

I'll be there! I am debating leaving friday afternoon now! I'll guide you around and if I am questing a spot you can land first with those "BIG" tires!
