Good morning all. After watching all my weather resources I have decided to pull the plug on the Gateway flyin for this weekend. The UBCP cancelled theirs a couple days ago. Yesterday I thought the trend was for improving weather, today it looks to me like it is deteriorating. If any of you will still go anyway, I would recommend calling the resort, asking for the Outfitters, and see what they have to say. There are 2 guys working there(Steve and Luke) that are pilots and should be able to give you a pretty current report. The # there is 1.866.671.4733. If you haven't flown this area, you certainly should sometime. It is VERY nice. It is an easy area for me to fly, if anyone wants to meet up over there in the future just let me know. Have a good and safe weekend Gary

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

My weather window in Canada was closing after this weekend, so I had just about made the decision to turn tail and head north instead of being able to meet all of you when I read the message. Maybe next time! See you all...

Gary.........................

Thanks for all the planning for this weekend at Gateway. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we all know that one cannot control the weather. Hopefully, you can plan a simular outing in the future sometime. We will look forward to joining in on the fun.

In Junction for the holidays. The flight over powell and up the river was amazing as always!

Never been to Hubbard or Dolores pt. Before. Was a little bumpy and snowy today, but I have to recommend this one as a future fly in spot. Flew down towards Montrose for lunch, many playground areas here 8)

Will post some pics when I'm back in phx

Gary,

Bummer wish I'da caught this sooner. Just got back into phoenix ourselves. Left Junction this am. Hopped over Glade park to photo a piece of property and then dropped into Gateway for a "farewell" tour back out the river on our way home. Actually found several cool strips right in and around there. Gotta do it again sometime. Image
