There are only three numbers to answer this question.
It has already been built.
170
That says it all. I am sure all the 170 drivers will agree

Cessna 208 Caravan-ish, so i can do some fun flying AND take all my friends with me to visit DenaliPilot for a ski vacay. I think the ski gear would fit well in that big belly pod.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I thought they were building it in Sand point ID. I can't remember the name of it but it is supposed to be the perfect plane.

Lands like a super cub, climbs like a home sick angel, hauls like a C-130, and cruises like a Pilatus while burning 12gph vegetable oil.
Maybe something like a turbo Sherpa with adaptable wings and C-17 strength retract gear.
You didn't have to say it was buildable.

Solar powered maybe, but with this group hot air might be more available.
Just mention politics or federal regulations and you could fly for hours.

Go fly one with a load of ice on a shitty day, and you'll never want to get near one of the damn things again.
My vote.... A lightly loaded '56 180 on a nice day. If there is a heaven, and by some mistake I ended up there, that's my ride, with a grass strip and a little hanger next to the cabin to round things out for all eternity.

My perfect plane for what I need is the one I have. Unfortunately, it would be nice to have five for more specialized duties.
Super Cub on big tires.
Beaver on floats.
Grumman Albatros

well this is deep, first there is no such thing as the perfect airplane but there are several already out there which I consider near so.. first let me agree with Gump ..amen to all you said...as for me at this stage if life....
a clean 150 hp (25 mph) cub.... not enough space to address all the details but there all on the market now, just putting it all togather
in the package these days cost $$$$.... so till then I'll keep flying the old plain jane. when I was young my dream plane was 170B with floats..... when I got a little older my uncle had a 180 on floats and let me use it, I thought I was king.... gas was cheap and fishing was grand... of course at the time I was flying a $1800.00 t-cart and to a kid no one could tell me it wasn't a beautiful bird.

tricycles are for little girls
On the heavy end? The gentleman that lives on Oceano has built this plane. It is a -34 Porter on 35" bushwheels.
On the lighter side? Joecub has come pretty close...

The problem is that there is no such thing as the perfect plane. There are as many missions as there are people out there, actual each person probably has many missions. I have two planes and I figure I probably really could use two more to cover some of my other missions. Fact is if a guy had one of every plane out there, he would likely wish for something that wasn't invented yet. That is what keeps the inventers busy. Fortunately it is very entertaining to "dream" about what kind of plane would better fit our needs, that saves actualy spending the money.......
