I watched this all the way through - really well done show! I really liked watching the guy who was checking out the new runways that were freshly cut in the mountains. It looked like scenes from Air America

Some serious risk management going on for these pilots, to say the least!!
It reminds me of another good book about flying in this area during and just after WWII called, "Lost In Shangri-La" by Mitchel Zuckof. It is the story of a C-47 crash full of military sightseers to the newly-discovered valley of "Shangri-La" on Papua, New Guinea. I found it in a used bookstore on a NYC layover and couldn't believe I had never heard the story before. It was national news in the US when it happened, with updates on the fate of the 3 survivors and newsreel footage. Really incredible that they eventually made it out, and especially HOW they made it out. Highly recommended!
