Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I could help if I knew what was going on.

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process...

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

Anybody notice how the Registration is noticeable?

What's the problem? Nothing illegal or broken. This is a "backcountry" site. There's tons of pictures of planes landing on sandbars. This one just happened to be a tad soft. No harm, no foul.

Sorry, I stand corrected. I didn't know that you were there.
If not a sandbar, then what was it?

Now I didn't live in Alaska anywhere near as long as MTV or Gump but when we I lived there I always knew those places in the photo to be called mud flats and some place to be avoided like the plague.

We have some beaches here with maybe an inch of sand covering good old blue clay. Seems to happen in the Fall, when we get more rain and big tides. It will f%#^ you good. Only way I know to avoid it is to remember where it is and don't go there unless its been dry for a good while.
The mud there is a bit more obvious, but I've seen them stuck way worse. Logs and branches and rocks and junk thrown down works good when you don't have help, or sometimes even when you do.
Shit happens. When you land in the weeds, something will get broke, and you will get stuck. Learn and ride on!
