LOL. Takes some skill with no depth perception...... I know a story of a one eyed pilot who kept his license based on demonstrated ability, but definatley not common.....

Aww Come on...in this politicaly correct world we be living in,you are seriously going to ask a one eyed pirate what's up with his bad eye
HeeHee... I had to give the right eye up in my early 40's. I tell my buddies in aerobatics competition that I routinely beat ,how bad is it that they lose to a one eyed pilot!
It is amazing how our creator gave us the ability to compensate for these little handicaps. Course my wife sez it gives my "look" character , Surely you agree?

Re: Landing in a slew

One of my best buddies is a one eyed airline captain. When he lost his eye, already an airline first officer, he thought his flying career was over. But when he got his FAA waiver, he became one of seven one eyed airline pilots in the world. And, as a young captain, he dead sticked a brand new 737-300 into a levee on Lake Ponchentrain (sp?) north of New Orleans without scratching the aircraft!!! I couldn’t do that with two eyes!! (Check TACA 110).

Great video!

Welcome to the forum.

Indeed! Have you found fiddling with the camera over your right shoulder preferable to the left? Does it allow you to get your left eye back out front quicker?

There are all lot of things in my flying as well as life in general that I do favoring my vision side as compared to my blind side, But , The camera location happen not to be one of them .actually it would've been a better over my left side, because I don't have to turn my neck as far to see over my left shoulder as much as the right .it just happened to be a better location due to other factors on the plane .

Had to Google the Woody Pusher. Looks neat, reminds me of the Maxair/Lockwood Drifter.

That was my bird at sun-fun one year before the last rebuild. It is currently very moded with slats ,flaps, gear extensions and a variety of other options to make it more stol capable Tried to upload current picture but I'm not savvy enough to figure how to get the pixel requirements in line .
