Just a word of encouragement hear. I have ten times the hours and landings you do and I am still trying to perfect my technique. I believe ever person on this site is doing the same including those with ten times the landings I have.

This made me chuckle. Clearly Gary has seen me botch a wheeled landing or two! If so, he's not alone;-)

Thanks for the encouragement and advice everybody, I feel pretty good on floats now. I've accumulated the hours required by insurance and have been signed off for solo, hopefully a seaplane rating in my license by Thursday if the weather cooperates. I'm a bit disappointed that float season is, by and large, over for the year, but I might just keep it on amphibs all winter. A bit harder to keep the snow off but there are some cool places nearby that don't freeze up, including our cabin.
