Marketplace on BCP and donations...

I've been listing a bunch of stuff lately here on BCP.

I was talking to a moderator this AM with a question I had and I learned that apparently its pretty rare that folks make a donation when something they list sells. I can't say that I was totally surprised as the internet seems to be filled with more takers than ever.

I don't think that it's explicitly called out anywhere, but I always felt it was implied. Sell something, make a donation. Remember, Zzz and the volunteers that help run BCP do it for basically nuthin.

BCP has gathered together a pretty concentrated group of like minded eyes here, and (IMHO) I think that we should all stand tall when we take advantage of the market place.

So...I suggest that if you've sold something this past year, especially big stuff like an airplane (you know who you are,) you might want to consider tossing BCP something... If your listing stuff here, than make a donation. Remember, it might never be said, but our actions are noticed.

And for everybody else... 2019 is almost here. Great time to renew your donation to BCP! LOL (link below)

Could you please post an address for mailing donations?

Thanks - Dave

Perhaps Zane could give that, but I would guess electronic would be his choosing. The link is below

BCP is the conduit and I see a value in that service, I'd support a "standard" percentage on both ends, what say the clan keeping in mind its not actually a democracy its Zzz's show

Re: Marketplace on BCP and donations...

Thanks Greg. I try to keep BCP as free as possible. This is the time of year when I make a very active sales push for advertising, in an effort to keep it free for all. Even though I announce when sponsors start, I do not announce when they stop, so it may seem more fruitful than it is!

I do appreciate kickbacks if people sell their stuff. It allows me to put more time into BCP to fix it, improve it, generate new content. Not getting rich here...just keeping the lights on. Every hour spent working on BCP is an hour away from my commission-based "real" job.

I'm one of the sponsors, or donors, or whatever, but my real contribution is the wisdom I share;-)

Good post Greg. I might add that some of us buyers have also gotten some good deals from other members, thanks Greg and Charlie, and it doesn't hurt to give a kickback to Zane for the good deals we get either.

Seems like a percentage of Gunny's 180 will pay for the site for a while...

My 180 sold through Facebook, which rather than a monetary donation, simply accepts all your personal information as a fee.
