I wonder if the new STC holder (North Point Aviation in MN) would be open to adding mogas to the STC?
Their website seems to be inop, but it looks like they have a FB page.

They increased the price of the Pponk substantially.

I've talked with their General Manager about the -50 and what they are planning to do with the STC at length while my airplane was up there last month. From what it sounds like, they have their eyes on a lot of things to continue the development of the STC. He also mentioned something about getting autogas approved for their engines, but I can't remember off the top of my head what his words were exactly. I'll make sure to talk to him about it when he gets back to the office next week.

I'm not sure what the price was for the STC before, but as of last week they want $1,500 to modify the engine & $1,500 to put the modified engine on an airplane. They are also helping out with high compression piston approvals for $1,000. Not a bad price when Air Plains want's 19,000 for the STC and install kit for a 550, which I assume would also apply for their 520 upgrade.

I emailed NorthPoint about this yesterday, haven't heard back from them yet.
I pointed out that by burning even 75% mogas instead of straight 100LL,
I could save enough over the TBO life of the engine to pay for the next overhaul.

So $3K for the STC only, to modify the engine & install on an airplane.
Seems a bit steep, but they have to recoup the cost of buying the STC from Pponk.
Who can tell us what they used to charge?

That is what I paid and feel it was worth it. I'm not sure what makes it so smooth but that is worth a lot to me. While not apple to apples, since I modified my 470K that was on my old "54" with original engine mount and put it on my 180K with original mount. The MT prop is the same, the same crank that had the back two counterweights changed , and the same carb that was modified in Florida. Something about that combo really makes it sweet and better than it ever was on the 54. I do wonder if the counterweight change on a 470K would make it smoother.

I think the different mounts may account for a lot of the smoothness.
Here's what Cessna had to say about it many years ago.
