I had filled out the necessary info on the MT factory site to get a prop ordered for my Tundra. Matter of fact, I posted the price when asked earlier in this thread. While my trembling hands were trying to type PayPal in the search box, I stumbled across this website saying they have the largest US inventory of MT propellers and most likely have what you need on hand. Who of you has done business here or knows this bussiness. They returned my inquiry early this morning saying shipping would be next day on the prop since it is on hand, but it could take 2-3 wks on the governor I need. In addition they have offered to match any price quoted by the factory. The bonus of course, is shipping to South Dakota should be cheaper from Wisconsin and the time frame quicker.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.
I just received my second one from John and am repacking the first one that was damaged from shipping to return to WI. I should add that I'm happy.

Dirtstrip,
Flight Resource are good guys. They're there if you need them, and their pricing is about as good as it gets.

I got it installed and went flying this morning----I like it. I didn't blast off so can't really say how it pulls compared to the 88 in Mac. It is smoother and at 23 squared it was indicating 140 mph with the big tires at 2400 feet and 65*. I like to pull the engine through a few blades before starting and could hardly turn it because the compression seemed so strong. With the 88 in, I always thought it seemed kinda weak even though the tester would say 70's over 80. When I started it, my first thought was Rotax. Russ was right when he said it responds instantly. But the best thing is, I've owned the plane for 21 years and dreaded taking the cowl off because of the ring behind the spinner----always had to flex the front baffles. Now there is all kinds of room between the ring and spinner.

Marty,
Are you on 29's or 31's? Also curious what tires you replaced with B-wheels, and at what speed penalty. The difference on my cub is 8mph from 8.50s to b wheels. Done it may times and that's what I can count on. Since that's all the more it is, I will never run anything but b-wheels on the cub. But I like the extra speed in the 180, and am not interested in making it much slower without a good payback. Your speed is good enough incentive to swap props and put a set of 29s on my 180 it's on GYs right now at similar speeds. Also, I'm sorry if I missed it, but what prompted you do ditch the mac?
Take care, Rob

Rob, I have 29's, replaced 8.00's. I never thought the Mac or the Hartzell I had to scrap were as smooth as they should be. Also, this is about 20 lbs. lighter than the original Harzell and 9 or 10 lighter than the Mac so the engine Lord mounts might not sag as fast. I have never put a file to the Mac yet but it does have some minor nicks that the prop shop didn't even mess with when I did a reseal last year. I'm thinking I might land on a gravel road sometime and can imagine what the Mac would start looking like.

I might have been a little optimistic on the speed in my previous post. This evening I went up again and paid better attention. Temp was 75 degrees, 2200 feet, 23 square, and I was indicating 132 to 133 mph.
