Have been laying a bit low is all. Crazy time of year with my "real job" doing PR and getting ready for the upcoming season. Not to mention the extremely lousy weather we have had recently has also kept me diverting my attention a bit.

We are currently seeing 80mph winds and have received a lot of rain. Thinking about building an ark soon if this keeps up. The guys in the NW look to be getting the same... #-o Looking forward to the snow!

Long story short, I have been flying, just not as much lately. Hopefully that will change in the next week!

Ever wondered what your Tach cable looks like? Here you go. Its a cable inside a cable. The small steal piece is what broke off the cable last week. This had me grounded when Zane went flying with the Bearhawk crew... #-o

Its pretty long. It runs from your engine, through the firewall and connects to the Tach.

A qucik trip to the resevoir. All beaches are a go now as the water levels are very low... =D> :D

The MT is working out great! I would encourage all of you to purchase one!
Image

And a little mud on the tires is always nice

My fingers are crossed for some good weather this next week. Thinking about a flying mission somewhere. Will have to sess out what the rain has done.

Enjoying your thread Bigrenna! Love your avatar name. "BigRenna"...makes me think about those 1-800 numbers and who is actually on the other end...

Hey Kevin do they offer the MT props in different color combo's?? And what about the spinner? Is it extra to get the polished/chrome/shiny model??

Your prop looks spiffy in all white but I have seen some painted to look like steel..

Re: My flying Thread- Aktahoe's Cessna 180

Just some flying yesterday. The weather has been stellar to say the least these past few days. Went down south to look for snow and see how much there really is. It was pretty windy up high so the landings were pretty much out.

I am also going through a faze now. Just not feeling it as of late. I make about 50 approaches into a cool spot and then end up saying to myself, "not today"...thats been my story the past few flights. Maybe I need to give myself a swift kick in the rear and get fired up. Maybe its because I have only been flying once a week as of late. I go through this in other aspects of life as well. Sometimes just cruising around is fun. Its also safe. Keeping it safe is also boring...well not really. The only way we improve is to step outside the bubble of comfort. Now that I am sitting here typing this I feel myself coming out of the safe shell....hmmm better not go flying today... Here is a couple shots from yesterday.

An experimental guy would go to heavy truck fix it shop that can make tach cables and be back in the air in short order.

Re: My flying Thread- Aktahoe's Cessna 180

I spent a good portion of the late morning, early afternoon yesterday flying around under the ceiling. I received a message that flying was off on the west side due to winds and fog so I decided to burn an hour anyway. After all I spent the first hour digging out of my hanger. Check out the deadly ice hanging. Makes for a great sound when you open the hanger door.

Once it was cleared off she was ready to go.

And I was off...Check out down town Truckee and the holiday traffic.

Here is a good one. Who has the better parking.
Squaw Valley? They have a lot of cars.
Image

Alpine Meadows? They also have a lot of cars and are very strategic in placing.
Image

Or maybe Boreal?
Image

Regardless, it sure was a beautiful flight...Thats what its all about... :D

Good to see you made it out to fly for a while, probably better you didn't try to make it out this way. I'll be in that mess of parked cars at Squaw Valley tomorrow morning.

Sixtwoleemer,

To answer your question about MT props-they will paint the props any cooler you want. I had the one for my Bearhawk painted flat black with red tips. They will also paint the spinner chrome for an extra $400 bucks or something like that.
