Watch, the Feds will OK the medical exemption first of August. Then I'll be shopping for a Pacer.![]()

I can hook you up with a hell of an awesome 150hp Clipper...
I remember you writing about that Bob. You even used to CAMP in one. Now that's tough. I don't think the Pitts is ever far from top of mind for me. I seriously thought about buying a project, making the wings equal span, and putting a Rotax 100 hp in there. LSA. My distaff portion's first question was; "where do I sit".z3skybolt wrote:Emory Bored wrote:Even better..... I can't believe I'm already plotting my next escape. A Pitts?
Now you are talking. I owed one like that for 14 years. Flew it over 400 hours. Most fun you can have with your pants on!!
Bob
It's all about stall speed. If memory serves it's 45 knots or 51 mph. With the M6 airfoil and the scanty wing that's tough to do unless you get the empty weight (for most pilots) down to about 600 pounds. In all other ways the S1 qualifies.z3skybolt wrote:My Pitts...
...weighed just over 700 lbs. What do you need for LSA? The 0-290 is 125 H.P. Does that work? Cheap and available.
Bob
But have you flown a Pitts? If not, do yourself a big favor and book some time. You don't have to go upside down and inside out to become spoiled for life. There just isn't ANYTHING you can do with your clothes on that is quite so nice as messing around in a Pitts!! I spent a week with Budd Davison back in '03. Without a doubt some of the best aviation money I ever spent.S-12Flyer wrote:You might look into a Murphy Renegade. Almost a Pitts but fits into the LSA specs with 2 holes and a 912. I've flown one and with my 200 lb butt and another 150 lb pilot, it was still very spirited. And that was only an 80 horse 912.
