I bet was quite an adventure.
Will try to convince him to go to Ilopango airshow. :)

Very experienced and good pilot , I flew with him in Alaska, had a great time, 30,000hrs of bush flying in Africa and Alaska, he has lots of very good stories.

That would be awesome, Larry!! Would love to meet him, and hear his stories!

Les Zerbe lands here at Spicewood, I'm out golfing and get a call from our airport manager knowing I'd like to meet any big tire pilot, hands her phone to Les and we chat for a few minutes. Then he shows up at Eduardo's airport and a friend snaps some pictures which ends up here where motoadve recognizes them as being his friend Les's plane. How very cool is that!

It's a small world, Phil! Very, very cool!

Now that's an idea, Rez!! This is what motoadve is talking about. I am the organizer of the largest airshow in Central America called Ilopango Airshow (you can google it). It's always the last weekend in January, with perfect weather: 80s and CAVU every day. We have a lot of airplanes come from all over Central America, Mexico and the United States. The Baja Bush Pilots have come down several times, up to 12 planes once. We have even sent a chaperone aircraft to Brownsville to escort US planes to Ilopango. It's an awesome excuse to warm up in the dead of winter. And, we'll wine and dine you.

I know you were joking, Rezrider, but ..... it's a thought, don't you think??

And soy, Belize is only an hour and a half flight from Ilopango. Come to the show, and I'll take you to Belize!!

Re: New airplane - Maule M8-235

It is a great show, I have been going 4 years in a row, the first time just my plane, a friend and I ,he was a student pilot and I had about 100hrs experience.
Then guys in Costa Rica saw the pictures , I told them how great hospitality was, we are treated very well and you feel welcomed.
second year 3 planes , then 10 and I think this year 16 planes from Costa Rica flew there, and everyone is already planning 2015.

Its a great excuse for flying south :)

Great Chris! Sorry, in maulepilots.org you appear with your name, I thought SA was a different person. Well, anyway, you got yourself a deal. I'll look at my calendar for next and let you know when I could come over. When would be the best time? Winter, June July?? Or too cold?

You know, with some heads-up on the dates, there's a possibility I might be able to make that if you've got room for one more... Getting the "Kitchen Pass" will be the tough part! (Wife/Boss has to sign off on these things... Hehehe) 8)

We had a very nice flight with Les Zerbe in the M5.
He wants to go to Ilopango airshow so you will probably meet him there.
