New Too You From WV

Hey guys, finally registering! I have been reading the posts religously for the past year or so and finally took the plunge. Young and new too this type of flying I look forward to learning as much as possible in terms of aircraft ownership and BC flying. Also have an uncharted strip in the eastern panhandle of WV if anyone is ever around pm me.

1973 Maule M4 220c with the normal goodies.

Re: New Too You From WV

Messenger, I am about 2 miles southwest of the class delta airspace at KMRB which is Martinsburg, WV. The strip is a little over a 1000' with a decent approach from the east and powerlines from the west. Very doable in the maule. What are you flying?

B Tracy, yea I saw the thread bummer I missed it. Had the old Franklin down for intake gaskets and primer lines. Definitely next time looks as if it was a blast.

Re: New Too You From WV

Iceman, wish I would have joined earlier. I'm new to the Maule and flew an ultralight and a Worn out 172 before that. Wasn't sure if I'd fit in or not lol. Loads of information and I can't wait to get to know more people.

260 Driver, that would be great. Anytime you wanna stop by just let me know. I'm sure I could learn quite a bit from you as well. The maule is fairly new too me. Everyone around here called me crazy buying this as my first TD.

Where is your strip?? We might have landed there. A lot of the time we were lost and would just land if it looked possible.

Patrol Guy, I am located just outside of the delta in Martinsburg (kmrb). Splits a cornfield and a creek. Not easily visible, would love to have more people swing by.

Welcome! Great to have another eastern US type here. Maybe we can get the critical mass for a "BCP East" group.

Farmaule:

I just (as in last week), got back in the air after a 13 year layoff. I'm waiting to see what the FAA does regarding the third class medical - don't want to try and renew mine because if you flunk you can't go LSA. So for now, I'm renting a Piper Sport/Sport Cruiser out of Montgomery Co. MD. Not much of a back country plane but they don't care if I take it in grass strips, etc. Hey, at least it flies!

If the proposed rule change takes effect, I'm thinking along the lines of a Husky, Scout, or 180Hp Maule. If not, the outfit I rent the LSA from has a nice Carbon Cub for sale...unfortunately they won't rent it out due to insurance costs.

Best,
