Re: Old photos of YOUR airplane?

Mine don't go back that far. When I sold my 180, the sons of the long time (45 year) owner saw the ad and reached out to me about it's history which I was thankful for. This is not the person I bought from, it's about 3 owners back, but was the person who really spent the most time with the plane.

Sometime in the 90's in California, the day Vernal Turnquist (what a name!) sold 12B and sent it to the East Coast. Notice how both stripes are blue.

The day Matt (mountainmatt) and I picked her up in West Virginia to bring her back to her rightful place in the mountain west. Bank account lost $75,000.

The essence of my airplane ownership. Skipping interstate traffic and flying into totality for the Solar Eclipse, and then camping at Mack Mesa:

The day I dropped her off at the new owner's house and left with $98,765.43 in my pocket.

I always thought this was the ugliest 185 paint scheme but it has grown on me to be my favorite. So unique compared to other classic Cessnas.

Imported from the US to Canada in 1977. Wish I had the US log book. Original Canadian owner sold the plane in the late eighties to a group of three guys. The group then sold it to the guy i bought it from. One of the group has the log book, but none of them strangely would talk to me - wouldn't return my phone messages or facebook messages so i gave up. Plane had a nose over when they owned it and they took over 2 years to fix it - I imagine there was some hard feelings there.

I did talked to the original owners widow who said her husband loved the plane, best plane he ever owned. She sent me the old pics.
