I took the pacer to town today for the first time. The FBO (Million Air at AEX) is very fancy and seems to have a crowd of the usual "flying enthusiasts", perhaps maybe better dressed than the grass roots airports I usually frequent. The "bushpacer" on 29's sure did draw a crowd, some of which seemed to know a lot about the aircraft type and all of the mods on her. I am not sure how serious this guy was, but someone there is looking for a pacer and offered me 45k for mine, to which I replied "thank you, but I do not plan on selling". The guy then offered me 50k, so I again thanked him. We talked about the plane quite a bit more before I left, but he insisted on giving me his number, which I took down somewhat curiously. Granted, this is a nice pacer, but are prices really going up on these? There seemed to be a consensus that even though there are lots of cheaper pacers, the really nice ones are commanding higher prices nowdays. Have you guys seen this as a trend?

Funny thing, as much as people down play the Pacer market, what do you do when you sell your nice one for $50k? A Super Cub isn't exactly a replacement. Maybe a Maule? PA-14? Big gap to a nice version of any of those models.

The Pacer occupies a nice size format. It's a really roomy 2-place effectively. Empty weights are sub-1200 lbs. Tons of STCs available. Good performance with an O-320.

A Pacer was on my short list, however the 170 popped up and I could pass up on it but a pal here has his eye on one and she’s SWEET

This is absolutely correct! 50k may get you a really nice pacer, but it will get you a rat-infested anything else. I hope today was not the "meeting of two fools", but in all reality there is no middle ground between a nice pacer and a Maule-Super cub-C-180-badass experimental-whatever. Perhaps the aircraft market is figuring this out.

A different take on this, would be the fact that decent spam cans are being snapped up at a silly rate and prices for those have been ratcheting up over the past year (schools?) As for the pilot pool, it's smaller now than it's been for a while but there are a ton of GA A/C out there, of those planes a high percentage have been sitting for a long time. So, even though there are plenty fish in the sea, there are not enough of the Bush or trainer variety in the flyable condition to meet demand. Yours is in that price range between a project and a worn - 18. That price, to me anyway seems real appealing, if you build your own stuff then sell it and start on another project. If you're not a builder, it would be a while before you were able to find another example in similar condition and price.

I love the Pacer and certainly will never see another one this nice unless I build it, which isn't likely to happen - but the truth is my mission is more suited for a 182. If I could have two planes I would never, ever dream of parting with the Pacer. Who knows, maybe one day...........

That looks like a helluva nice pacer. I dunno what you're planning on asking for it, but I think there's at least two different guys posting on this site who're interested in buying their first airplane, and your Pacer seems to meet their parameters of what they're looking for. If neither one of them gets ahold of you after your last post, shame on them!

Really nice looking Pacer. I searched high and low. And like others said, there really isn't anything like the Pacer for the typical prices. Mine is fairly well used and not pretty. But she should teach me a ton. The ability to upgrade and add stc's is another reason I went Pacer.

Mark's pacer is even nicer. It's amazing how nice old rag and tube airplanes can be when someone who knows what they are doing completely goes through them.

Asa, thanks for the good vibes! I looked at a few REALLY nice Pacers before I bought this one. Wanting to fly instead of work on it makes a big difference, plus the cost of mods adds up pretty fast. The IA that built this one up had put some serious time in her. I'll put an ad together and post it here.
