Ray spoke at the recent Idaho Aviation Expo. Some fun stories. He’s done some amazing work there.

I really wanted to be in attendance for that. I'm sure it was great. I stayed home and worked on the plane.

Whenever I am staying at Johnson Creek, my next to last stop at the end of the day is Cascade. I always go there for gas and necessities from town.. Over the years I have become friends with Ray, Carol( wife/secretary), and Mike(son/mechanic). All great folks. Ray really likes Huckleberry pie, so usually him and I will go to town for pie and ice cream and he tells me stories. This is one of the best parts of my trips to Idaho I now call him Mr. Huckleberry.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Met Ray last summer at Mackay. Chatted with him for a couple of hours.

The year there was the mid-air crash at Johnson Creek, a friend and I were at Cascade. We were told JC was closed. While we waited for JC to re-open, Ray told use stories for 3 hours. One of the high-lights of my Idaho trips.
Cheers...Rob

My wife and I stopped for gas after leaving JC. Ray took us into town, showed us around and let us buy him breakfast. A real charming guy with great stories.
