Searching For a specific Large Custom built (150%?) Cub.

EDIT: Mystery solved, it was SuperChub. thanks!

Hi All,

New user here, I have been scouring the internet for days, various forums, YouTube history etc looking for a cub I saw a few years back. I remember watching videos about this specific aircraft and then seeing it at Oshkosh or maybe sun n fun but I am fairly certain it was Osh.

This cub may have been scratch built or at least heavily modified and it was huge. By huge I mean bigger than the standard SQ's and the cubs guys are flying now in STOL competitions. Not the guy with the 30inch gear either. I remember that this one had a bigger cabin, tail, wing etc. In the videos, the pilot/builder mentioned building it larger in practically every dimension because he was a tall guy. I want to say it may have basically been a 150% cub but that seems too big. If I remember correctly it had a pretty standard yellow and black paint job.

I am not talking about Scrappy...

I am hoping some of this very vague description sparks a memory in someone here or they can direct me where else to go to look for some notable monster cubs.

Thanks! I look forward to digging deep into this forum.

It almost sounds like one of the Sherpa models to me.

You thinking of the 4 seat cub that Alaska Airframes makes?

Winner winner chicken dinner! Super Chub it is. Looks like it was sold and subsequently nosed over in 2020. I knew this was the right place to look! Thanks for your responses. Wish I hadn’t googled in on my work phone but too late now.

I hadn’t seen the Sherpa before today, what a machine!

My buddy Brandon built that. I'm pretty sure there is a thread on it over at supercub.org. It was a hell of a machine.

Does Brandon still have it? I sold him a prop to try on it about 5 years ago. Looks like an awesome machine!
