Signage for a private strip

All

Looking for some ideas on signage for our local air-park grass runway.
We have some kids that like to run their dirt bikes up and down the strip. Also have one of the neighbors that likes to drive his truck on it all the time.

Currently it has been registered but has no signage.

Concerned about hitting someone when I'm coming in for a landing. Any ideas?

Don't want to be like "Clint" and say "Get off my Lawn"

Thinking like

Aircraft use only
Restricted area
Aircraft landing zone..... etc etc

Thanks

Ya, you want to remain somewhat diplomatic with the neighbors. I would post a sign saying.
Aircraft operating area- Caution, extreme danger! all persons using this field, must be posses 5 million in liability insurance for their own protection.

Also, build a presents of possession and significance. Joe jack neighbor is less likely to drive down the strip, if he's going to have to go thru markers and disturb boundaries. Put a sign up marking it as a airfield and give it a name. Put traffic cones on the ends and lay out lines and runway numbers with field chalk. This now gives the area distinction. Put up low key signs that state "no vehicles beyond this point".
This will do wonders to build respect for the property..

Hello Bighorn,

I've found that fences make for good neighbors. That said, whitetail deer are the biggest hazard at my airstrip. So far I've been real lucky with my neighbors and most of them are good friends.

Good luck,

Re: Signage for a private strip

I had a problem with some local jerks using my desert dirt strip with their ATVs. I caught up with them and asked them how stupid they were to screw around with a strip that the Feds were using with the DEA for surveillance on local meth labs?!? Couldn't they tell everyone that landed was packing?? And never come on the property, cause they'll probably draw down on them, they're very dedicated, and also jumpy. Also, late at night, that's probably a Predator flying overhead, so just ignore it, it's just taking routine videos.

Never had a problem since, nor have seen their parents either.
