Ski flying above 6500' in the Sierras
Two of the best inventions ever, skis and airplanes, together.
Ooops I thought the number I saw on the ski was 2500, and they look like a small ski compared to others I have looked at, but not positive without 2 together. I didn't mean to say that was their official Fluidyne size, I misspoke. I see what you mean, the number does not necessarily reflect size.
So the retract skis have a big cut in them for the wheel, how is that any different than penetration skis? They both have cutouts for the tire. Total surface area may be similar, other than of course the tire below the ski on a penetration.

If it looks smooth, it might be. If it looks rough, it is...www.bigtirepilot.com ...www.alaskaheliski.com
Aktahoe - you only need 23 more landings, then that's two hours. I notice that is about how many landings I get with the cub for every two hours I am ski flying.
Have a good trip. I can't imagine all the landing spots in the winter. I would never get there trying to leave tracks everywhere.
