Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Great story and glad you shared. My first thought is, why would anybody think bringing a baby into a world like that a good thing.

I'm curious what the previous owner used the plane for-----giving scenic rides or rich person that liked floatplanes or ????? Evidently it didn't work out.

Do you do this for a living? Or just a sucker for punishment? Must've been a hell of a deal to make that worthwhile.
Great story though.

Great write up! Totally brought me back to my visits there. I remember very clearly one time being stuck in traffic in Bangalore with a guy on crutches making better time than we were.

Can't wait to hear more, this is the stuff of great stories, and you're pretty damn good at telling them.
Thanks for taking the time to write it up!

Dogpilot,
Could you please conduct more business in shady places so we can get more stories like this?
Thanks,

The paperwork may continue after the rescued airplane arrives in the US. For some reason, maintenance standards in other countries don't cut it compared to the US. I know of some C206's imported back from Turkey that turned into a very expensive headache for the company that imported them back to the US. Maybe there will be a Part 3 to the tale inthis thread.
