Didn't I buy a cub lumber rack from you 5-10 years ago?

Test it per the manufacturer's instructions via BIT's. Typically required every 90 days or so.
Your IA should know how to comply with 91.207 at annual without any special test equipment or up charges. Usually.

Had several questions on this before so I'll elaborate a little. Generally a 406 ELT will have an extra "required" test per the manufacturers instructions. Usually consists of pushing a button and looking for a beep/light etc once every 90
days etc and it tests 90% of the operations. So think 2 tests now: the BIT and the Annual.

Wasnt me, could of been Gaston over in BZN. He had one for sale several years ago. I was just wondering if I needed to buy a 406 elt testing machine but it doesnt look like it.

Escape and evasion course in Panama years ago besides all kinds of "stuff" and proper attitude to survive..I have in back of airplane cargo area several plastic buckets (old kitty litter pails) filled with enough stuff to sustain 2 people for about 2 weeks , lots of it from my days in military . If you can't hump it you don't need it. Shelter and water purification( see the straw) is on top of my list. SPOT with spare batteries,Proper clothes for the season ,1/2 dozen very large orange trash bags (watch for them around road clean up crews) ,several hundred ft. of Para Cord ,Hand full of steel wool and some 9 volt battries in plastic pill bottle .Overall 2 portable containers that weigh about 40-45 lbs.

Excellent information Kevin. This should go in the BCP Knowledge base.

Favorite topic for me. Did a couple presentations on it and it's always a hit.
-Older local guy always said "wear what u wanna crash in". Thats still great advice.
-Keep lighters and knives in all your stuff. Found a guy that literally had one lighter and a knife (half a knife really) and stayed alive 2 ugly nights. Everything basically burnt at Impact to include some of what he was wearing....And he was up high.

If u r registered correctly and the 406 is activated u just don't stay for long so that's where my attention stays, but machines DO fail...

Scolopax,
I understand that's being done. I'm happy the information is useful. Thank you.
