I've been asked about this several times over the last few years. Scenario: You draft a post, then when you click Submit it returns a light blue page that reports "SQL Error."

It is caused by the use of emoji characters, the little smilies and icons that are included with a smartphone keyboard. The database table character encoding doesn't like them and throws an error, though it doesn't seem to be 100% of the time.

I need to do some work with adjusting the db table charset settings, but all you guys need to know is to avoid using emojis and stick to the smilies here on the site.
