I'm ferrying an AG plane to Reno this December, where is this "Chicken Strip" and what is it? Would it not be too bad a detour?

It is in the Saline Valley at 36-49'N / 117-47W (according to the sign) at any rate here is a google image...
I was there about a year ago...
