Whose butt des a guy have to kiss to be able to land at wax Orchards. I'd heard that visitors, or should I say starngers, are not welcomed there. It's an awesome lookng airstrip, I eyeball it every time I go by.

Wax Orchards

'Tis easier to beg forgiveness than request permission.

Little N numbers help.

That's my policy on alot of things, but not flying into private airstrips. AKA trespassing. I live out in the country, and I've had people trespass on my place and didn't like it.

Wax Orchards

Just kidding actually.

I was told that they really don't mind the occasional visitor as long as you don't use it as a practice field.

Folks were pretty friendly when I landed there.

Is George Kirkish based at Wax Orchards? He has a Maule and a couple of Cubs and uses Boeing field, too.

The preferred color of airplane at Wax Orchard is yellow! (lol) George Kirkish is my instructor and he has the permission and that was passed on to me as his student.

George is based at Vashon Muni 2S1 and keeps a J3 and his Maule there, in addition George keeps another J3 at the north east end of Boeing. He commutes in his Maule more than he drives his car. It was a 2 1/2 hour round trip to go to his hanger and home with the ferry and waiting etc. Now that I soloed, it takes me 15 minutes to commute from Tacoma Narrows to Vashon muni in my sport cub.

The enitre estate 600 + acreage of wax orchard is for sale at this time, I think it was over a $100 million, anyway some shocking crazy amount!
