I mis-spoke. They didn't want unprocessed feed such as oats, the inevitable spillage from which might grow and contaminate the wilderness and crowd out the native growth. Any feed must be processed, aka alfalfa pellets. Maybe they have a point there, there's an awful lot of cases where an introduced (intentionally or otherwise) species plays hell with the natural ecosystem- I seem to recall that rabbits were introduced into Australia, & then became a PITA. Quite often game fish are illegally released by sportsmen which then proceed to decimate the native trout, etc.
All the enviro types do have a basis for their position, but unfortunately it's too often carried to extremes.

Bill, you should build up a electro-Goat--- hang several of your lightweight batteries & an electric motor on a camo chassis and silently go where no tote goat has gone before. :wink:
