Last weekend both the weather and work managed to align and bless me with a beautiful, work free weekend. My wife and I decided to do a day trip to Cedar Mills, 3T0 near Gordonville, TX. We had such a good time, I couldn't help but a write a small report about it on my blog. If you live in northern Texas or southeastern Oklahoma, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like I'll need to make the trip before too long. I live in Waco, so it would be a pretty short flight up there.

Good report of an excellent place. When we lived in Bridgeport, we made many trips there for lunch or dinner, stayed in the cabins next to the runway several times too during the off season, beautiful and quiet.

4. The runway has no lights. There are small reflectors marking the runway.

Got caught one night there late (long wait for a table) and it was dark, dark by the time we were headed home. Wasn't worried, as like you reported, the strip is in excellent condition and the landing light would be sufficient, but as I found out, they run the sprinklers at night to keep it in good shape. Getting the windshield blasted with water every few yards during take off made it a little more interesting

Slowhawk, that's a funny story. We actually found out there were no lights in much the same fashion. Before we left I had read somewhere there was runway edge lighting of unknown intensity. Good enough for me. As we walked back from dinner and the strip was totally dark, my wife kept saying, "It's really dark! How are we going to take off?"

I walked over to one of the "edge lights" to discover it was only a reflector. They worked fine for us to get out of there though, and since we went in January, there was no worry about sprinklers coming on during our takeoff roll!
