Uncharted UT Strips. Anyone Know Them?

This last Thursday I helped my old flying club bring a plane back from Western Skyways in CO and on the way there, we flew over the East Tavaputs Plateau south of the Vernal area. Recently I had gone in and marked most of the strips from UBCP website on Foreflight as waypoints for reference. We saw Sagebrush Flats and Sand Wash, but I also saw 4 other strips. I'll post there coordinates below. I'm certain they are from the natural gas/mining going on in the area. A couple look like they are no longer in use and starting to get overgrown. I just wondered if anyone knows anything about them or been to them. I also know there is some Indian land in that area and need to check to see if any are on Indian land.

Wow, You have a good eye to spot those 4. I've been to all of them but only the 3rd one was still useable last fall. (At for me in least in my plane)
The same as Twin Knolls a bit to the North. I'll see if I can dig up some footage.
The 3rd one has a fairly good growth of sage starting but I was able to find enough room to get in and out.
Moon, Steer and Willow are all within a few miles and are all in good shape. Willow is the best of the bunch and can be accessed by pretty much anything. Only issue is that they all lie at 7500' msl and above so the D.A. is a factor in the summer.
I'd hazard a guess that the unnamed strips are just left over from the gas well boom a few years back.
As with all of the strips up there, you really have to be careful of deer, elk, horses and even buffalo. There are rather large herds of each roaming the area.

Cool. Thanks for the info. We must have just been lucky and had the right line. It seemed like every time I looked out the window there was a new strip, so I started recording waypoints! Before Spring is over, I want to get up and check some of the strips in that area out.

Drop me a line when you head this way. I'd be glad to show you around.
BTW, Both Willow Flats and Moon Ridge have good camping sites.
Be careful at P.R. Springs. It's narrow with high brush on both sides but it has the best views.

Re: Uncharted UT Strips. Anyone Know Them?

I flew into one of these a few days back and updated the Shortfield database.
It's called Winter Ridge and it is in reasonable shape for most backcountry aircraft.
Although it should be called Swingle's ridge because of all the cow patties on it.
I actually took off on the road that crosses the southern end as to avoid getting any more cow dropping thrown up un my wings.
I'll post some pics and a video in a day or two.
