=D> I've always enjoyed watching your clips, they always tell a great story. You and your wife have a very relaxed welcoming aura about you, kinda makes me feel part of the McBean flying family, although I realise I may be a step under the pooch. Best of luck with it all.

Re: We have a TV Show!

That's very cool! You get to fly and be famous... can't argue with that. Hopefully the producers can toss you some Avgas along the way!

EDITED TO ADD:

Just looked up your Youtube channel. You guys have put together some great videos there. Hopefully there's a way for those of us who don't live in your area to see the show when it airs. I love Utah, and have been going there for hiking, canyoneering, and climbing for many years. I definitely need to see that state by air one of these days!

Absolutely correct! Thanks to AMCBEAN there may be a golden opportunity to put aviation in a good light and generate some positive exposure on a large scale. This is an opportunity that must not be missed !

Re: We have a TV Show!

One of the major points we want to share with others who don't fly the back country is what a great resource these strips are, and how they need to be maintained for future use. The amount of recreational opportunities that are opened up with such minimal impact are just incredible. A 2000' dirt runway is a lot cheaper/less environmentally impactive (pretty sure I just made that word up) than a road 60 miles into the back country. Anyway, our hope with the show, besides having a great time flying together, is to get more people interested in aviation as recreation.

A major part of what will make our show is you! Seriously, nobody wants to watch me on tv, I'm only there because I can do some mediocre flying. People will love Noreen I think, and Chuck is a spotlight stealer, but we want to show you guys having a good time flying and recreating. We'll have the website updated soon with a place to send in ideas, and I'm saving the ideas you've already posted here. There is enough material for a lot of seasons! Hopefully the show will live up to your expectations. If it doesn't, let me know, and I'll blacklist your email.

We are working on getting the show on more stations in more states, and also on a way to get the episodes online in some way for those who don't live were the show is on tv.

We'll see you in the back country!

What do you know so far about netflix/hulu and the hurdles to getting carried there?

Do you guys have a FB page? I've got lots of family and friends in Boise and Southern Idaho that I want to let them know about this.

Disregard the above comment! The more the better. If people experience these places they will be more willing to fight for them when we have issues or people trying to take them away. And a better understanding of what we do!

sure after all why should us pilots be the only ones to enjoy Johnson Creek and other strips in the back country.. why shouldn't motor homes and trailer campers be allowed to camp at Johnson creek and other back country strips.. after all they all pay taxes..in todays politically correct environment we pilots are viewed as a bunch of rich guys with toys. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of the show but the old saying "be careful what you wish for" may apply here.. Hope it is successful but I also hope it doesn't increase opposition to our use of the back country.. you know the forest service already would rather see us out of the back country...

That does seem like a great idea... especially since I have Netflix, but don't have cable! :)

Here is the facebook page link: https://www.facebook.com/AdventuresOnTheFly?fref=ts

And here is our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/AOTFTV We'll be adding more videos as we get closer to our air dates.

We, mostly my producer, are also exploring hulu options (he knows one of the execs over there) as well as building a Roku channel. We'll keep you posted!

Re: We have a TV Show!

The show starts airing on Fox9 in Boise on the 9th of June. Our time slot is yet to be determined, I'll let everyone know as soon as we have something solid. And we will put full episodes up on our website, http://www.aotf.tv, after they air so that everyone can see them.

Re: We have a TV Show!

Adventures on the Fly! premieres this Sunday on FOX9 in Boise at 11:30am! Don't miss it! For those of you not in Idaho, we're working on adding more stations, meanwhile, catch our first episode after it airs on our website, www.aotf.tv. Episode 2 will be the Caveman Ranch fly-in, and that is going to be an awesome episode. But you can still watch the 1st episode, too.
