Weird Guy in the Corner

After lurking around this site for over a year now I decided it was time to actually register, stop being the weird dude in the corner, and contribute to conversations. Grew up flying in Colorado and think the best kind of flying is off the asphalt and in the hills. Though I do not get to do it much these days, I have one way of feeling like I do and that is living vicariously through all of you! Love seeing all of the pictures posted and videos produced doing what we love. Look forward to talking with all of you from here on out.

Welcome Jeff! You have a great group of BCP pilots right there in CO. And one in western NE. You should hook up with them some time. Have a great holidays.

I am a Marine KC-130J pilot. Wouldn't be a bad plane if they could figure out how to take the wheel off the front and stick it in the back where it belongs.

Re: Weird Guy in the Corner

Oki!!! Heck, welcome aboard! I spent 5 years on the rock. Had a great time there. Keep an eye out for the Habu!!!
Had a good Archery club when I was there but I think it is gone or very reduced in size now. Got many a rides on the mighty Herc' going to Gaum. Would go there to hunt pigs and deer.
I left there in Dec. '99.
Are you on MCAS Futenma?
Does Kadena still have the Aero Club?

Re: Weird Guy in the Corner

Yes I am on Futenma. I make so many trips to Guam and Thailand I feel like they are my second home! The aeroclub is still there. I haven't used it, but a couple of my guys are taking classes there. I really don't mind this place, though, I am gone a lot. In the last year I can't remember a time where I was on Island longer than three weeks without having to go somewhere. My wife on the other hand gets pretty bad island fever. She doesn't mind it out here but will be pretty excited when we return to the states.
